Did I say January 14th? I meant March 18th. But let’s not split hairs. Recent (extensive) travel to Los Angeles has caused me to really decipher what it is that I like about San Francisco. It came down to the one thing that all of my friends in New York said in the first place– it is a truly shallow city. Whereas LA is all about thinking and focusing on oneself , San Franciscans actually get involved civically, Los Angelenos only see the homeless over their shoulder in the mirror. That is if they’re visible at all. It’s a race to be first on every level, even if it’s to the line at the checkout counter. But most of all, it’s shameless. to which I say– “fool me once, shame on me. fool me twice…”
But today’s post is not about LA bashing, but a quick list of the good things about LA have nothing to do with people– the ocean, the landscape, and the weather.
But, the one thing that makes LA what it is, is also responsible for creating the sad culture– the movie industry.
So, every time I watch a good, or even great film, I pause and draw back my fist.
If you’re only good for one thing, make it something everyone can appreciate…
